Got back to montreal, spent a night there then headed straight down to NYC for halloween weekend with Maeve, Jessica and Climan.

We went to bed... I woke up naked in a pile of dollars bills with 2 slices of half eaten pizza stuck to my chest. Perfect.

Cafe Habana is one of my favorite spots to get some good eats in the city. They have these lethal drinks that aren't always on the menu called Moritos. Ask for one. Half mojito half margarita... walking out blindingly drunk at 1pm is not uncommon.

I spent the last 2 weeks of my life subletting an apartment in the heart of the city. I moved into my friend Galen's apartment, we spent a glorious two weeks of waking up hanging in front of the air conditioning nursing hangovers... skating over to the basket when the sun died down and getting buck after that. I switched the routine up a little some days but generally that's how i was living.

Headed down to Ottawa 2 weekends ago with Sara for part 1 of my birthday festivities. Caitie hooked up the delta for me, our spot had a salt water pool and jacuzzi. Nothing like a 2 story waterslide to bring out the kid in you. Day 2 we went to Pete and Calum's Raised By Wolves party at Ritual. It was pretty melllow until 5 minutes to close Redman showed up and decided he wanted to DJ. The bar stayed open an extra hour while shit popped off. Redman had Saukretes be his hypeman, he really didn't play what you would expect of him. I'm talking soldier boy, 50 cent and just timberlake? Realy red. We were all too faded to care by that point and I got to bun off his blunt so really I wasn't complaining.

We drove back home to Montreal for part 2 of the celebration. Nice little dinner at Davinci courtesy of Dom, then onto the private party at Basano, I did a horrible job ipod djing cam'ron and UGK all night for my friends. Open bar all night... no ones complaining.

I tend to take an alternate route home when I have my board on hand. There's this hill close to where I stay at that I enjoy bombing, but it's a mission and a half to get to it. Basically I have to walk through a sketchy basketball court, only to reach a fence that's opened 2 months out of the year. The fence leads to a forest of sorts with a half assed trail that proves to be quite difficult to conquer at night. I'm a certified pro, and once you get past the whole "i hope some homeless man isn't chilling there with a hatchet" fear, it proves to be quite scenic.

Who am I trying to kid, I'm actually a huge puss. When I'm hitting it past midnight and I'm paranoid off the twig I try to hold 2 way conversations. I put on a super baritone voice and reply to the questions I asked with my man voice in a high pitched girly squeek. At the very least if the imagined psycho isn't believing the whole 2 person act they gotta think I'm some kind of fucked up psycho they don't want to stick their dick in. I win.

I've been collecting fitteds ever since my early high school years right after a sadistic hairdresser gave me a Joe Dirt inspired mullet. I have this bad habit of buying hats 2, 3, even 4 sizes to big just cause I can't bare the thought of not having it. I do the same thing with shoes, it's a bad look. For those that don't know Jourdan started making shoes in the 1920's but really came up in the 60's and 70's, he was also the first shoe designer to put shoe advertisements in high end fashion magazines. With the help of Guy Bourdin behind the lens Jourdan's shoes became the object of affection of any girl in the know and any guy with a hard on for the avant-garde bitch on the go.

The brand went bankrupt in 2002 under the helm of charles sons but should be out again in stores by 2010. I hope they keep pushing for the innovative heel designs Jourdan became famous for.

No news has surfaced as to whether they plan on bringing back the hand bag collection Jourdan went hard with in the mid 70's
I came across one at value village a couple of years ago and it's been a prized possesion ever since.

Last year about this time I got hold of a documentary called Street Anarchy Gangbangin Fo life-out on bail vol.2, it's pure comedy. You can definitely check it out part by part on YouTube. There was one particular bit on pruno that got hold of my attention and I was determined to learn how to make this prison juice. I figured it would be a life tool, since there's no chance I would be the biggest butch in the pen I figured I would need some kind of bartering skill to keep me from getting fucked with a broomstick if I ever did wind up in the dog house.

So Legs and I set out on a mission to make the filthiest batch of pruno we could.
I skated in a pair of socks for 2 days and then let them marinate in their filth while legs set out to rot some apples.
We reconvened with our foul ingredients to concoct our prison drank.

I think the sock is supposed to act as a filter, so the rotten fruit juices can spill over into the juice without it getting to pulpy, classy.

Mix it all together and keep it close to a heater for a while, don't forget to burp it every once and a while....foul

It lingered around in the house for months, but we never summed up the courage to drink the stuff, why would you when you could drink this instead?

Ever since I can remember my dads side of my fam has hosted a softball tournament against our rival family. My dad has 5 brothers and some how they all had girls with the exception of my brother and 1 other boy, making the odds like 20 girls to 2 boys. I guess that's natures way of balancing ish out. Point being with that many uncles to look up too you get force fed your fair share of sports. Needless to say some of us turned out to be tomboys. My cousin Nicole and I have always been ridiculously competitive, these tournaments were no exception. One year she rolled through in these Griffeys and took me to school. Our competitive streak didn't end there. In high school we both joined our school softball teams and often found ourselves competing against one another. Truth be told she is a much better player than I am. But here I am 14 years later still holding a grudge. Maybe if I had these back then things would have played out a little different. Wishful thinking, right.

A little while ago Empire celebrated their anniversary with a pre party at the shop hosted by the likes of Onyx. Lucky for me only a dozen people showed up and I actually got to chop it up with Fredro Starr, I went up to him and said,

"Shorty doo wop pull your pants up and turn your hat around"
which means nothing to anyone unless you've seen Sunset Park.

He did the math and figured out I was only 9 when that movie dropped. If you haven't seen Sunset Park I urge you to get your hands on it, one of the best cheesy ball movies of the 90's. If you don't like ball then get it for the soundtrack or the ill fits. I'm still trying to figure out what and where i can find that fitted fredro rocks during the movie. You know the one that says SWOL on the front and "big headed" in small print on the side. Anyone with any knowledge on this hat needs to get at me.

Anyways, the kicker to this story is afterwards Gab, Jenn and I hit up the St Elizabeth for a few rounds of malty goodness. When the waitress got to our table she walked up to Gab and Jenn and told them they couldn't bring their child to the bar. After taking the ditz to school she proceeded to take the walk of shame and get a more competent waitress to work our table.

Funny thing is this isn't the first time legs has been mistaken for my mom. I need to start taking this as a compliment.

I was lucky enough to make it to LA last Saturday to see "Die Posers Die" at Alva's spot, Exhibit A Gallery. It featured artworks from the likes of Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Steve Olson, Lance Mountain, Duane Peters, Chris Pastras, Jason Adams, David Hackett, Tony himself and a few other notables. I wasn't even aware these people were even dabbling in the art world but i guess arthritis kicks it at a certain point and makes way for new hobbies. Lots of amazing people were there, free booze, free cake music and everyones favorite lesbian, Samantha Ronson. She was there with whom i presume to be her new chick. amazing. Goodtimes all around.

Stayed home today sick and caught a documentary on HBO called Very Young Girls. The documentary covered the child prostitution problem in NYC and I'm still in awe after seeing it. Headed to Toronto last weekend to catch a Bulls vs Raptors game with the home girl steph again. I was pretty excited to see the Bulls newest rookie addition Derrick Rose in action, and he was everything and more than I expected. Kid is a couple months younger than me and killing the game. I guess the Bulls kind of have a knack for picking rookies and since Derrick was the Bull's first pick of the 2008 draft I knew he had to have something going on. He's the first Bulls draftee since Jordan to score 10 + points in the first 10 games. Definitely watching him. I think my favorite thing about him though is that he has the word "POOHDINI" tatted on his right arm. That's fucked up. Yeah and i guess he plays a mean game of ball too. Only wack thing is he's on Adidas, someone bring back EWING sports shoes plz and hook this boy up.
